Secondary Stage – British Curriculum at Smart International School

The Secondary journey at Smart International School is designed to inspire and prepare students for the future. Our programme combines the British National Curriculum with the richness of the Egyptian Ministry of Education’s requirements in Arabic, Religion, and Social Studies, ensuring our learners are both globally minded and deeply connected to their local culture.

Key Stage 3 (Years 7–8)
Students begin their Secondary years with a two-year KS3 programme that provides a strong foundation across core and creative subjects. Global Perspectives is at the heart of our curriculum, helping students to think critically, understand diverse viewpoints, and engage confidently with local and international issues.

Key Stage 4 (Years 9–10)
At this stage, students embark on their IGCSE journey. learners select six subjects that align with their strengths and aspirations.
Key Stage 5 (Years 11–12)
In the final stage of Secondary, students follow AS and A Level pathways tailored to their university and career goals. Our emphasis on independence, resilience, and critical thinking equips them to meet the demands of top universities worldwide with confidence and distinction.

Beyond the Classroom
Learning at SIS extends well beyond academics. Students explore Expressive Arts, sports, and extracurricular activities, nurturing creativity, leadership, and teamwork. They are encouraged to take an active role in school life, contribute to the community, and grow into responsible young leaders ready to shape the future.

Assessment & Progress
We believe assessment should empower students. Through a combination of formative feedback and formal examinations, we ensure progress is continuous and measurable:

Ongoing teacher and peer feedback helps students understand their strengths and areas for growth.

Formal exams are held twice yearly in KS3.

Students sit their IGCSEs at the end of Year 10, followed by AS and A Levels in Years 11 and 12.

At Smart International School, our Secondary programme is more than just academics—it is about preparing young people to think critically and act responsibly.
